A traditionally black college in Virginia says it has fired nine of its cops for sharing “misogynistic, racist and other offensive remarks via social media.” In an announcement emailed to The Associated Press on Friday, Hampton University said that it fired the officials from its police branch for “egregious violations of the university’s code of behavior.”
The university’s declaration did not element the comments the officers made. It stated it has “zero tolerance” for such conduct and had carried out complete research. Founded in 1868, the faculty in the town of Hampton sits near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. Its website says it has a total enrollment of approximately four, three hundred students. The police department’s internet site stated it has 25 police officers on its workforce.
