Oklahoma faces crucial shortages in teachers and directors. There is an ongoing desire to educate educators to fill these positions and prevail in the discipline. To address this growing demand and help fill essential gaps inside the teaching profession, Mid-America Christian University (MACU) launched a Master of Education application in Curriculum and Instruction and Educational Leadership and Administration this fall. Through a scaffolded method in the study room, MACU College of Adult and Graduate Studies Dean Dr. J Hall said new teachers would gain knowledge and capabilities essential to effective lecture room instruction. In contrast, veteran instructors will gain clean perspectives and ideas on instructional practices.
“The program gives students a toolbox of techniques and sources that may be applied to their teaching throughout the program and after commencement,” he said. “During the degree program, college students will whole an expert portfolio which can be highlighted in interviews with capacity employers and utilized as a resource throughout their careers,” Hall said. The Educational Leadership and Administration diploma presents a necessary bridge for advancement for instructors trying to move forward and become administrators.
“The application prepares students to emerge as building-level directors no longer best through presenting college students with enticing material, but also by emphasizing the utility of thoughts to relevant issues and present-day activities,” he said. Hall stated that the degree applications, which are also to be had as certificates, construct the fulfillment of MACU’s traditional instructor training packages. “By including two new Master of Education levels, we provide superior training to Oklahoma instructors, whether or not they have been within the profession for many years or are new to the sector,” he said.
To build the Master of Education programs, Hall stated MACU worked with college superintendents from throughout the kingdom.
